Switzerland

Turquoise mountain lakes, peaks over 4,000 metres and panoramic trains rolling leisurely across viaducts: Switzerland packs more views into a small space than almost any other country. By day you hike between Lake Lucerne, Appenzell and Graubünden; in the evening there's cheese fondue. If you'd like to spend the night right in the middle of nature, this is where you'll find our bubble tents in Switzerland: the bubble hotel with the highest ceiling in the country, the starry sky.

Hiking: Via Alpina, 5-Seenweg and high-altitude trails

More than 65,000 kilometres of marked trails lead through Switzerland, from leisurely lakeshores to the high mountains. On the Via Alpina you hike in 14 stages from Vaduz to Lenk, passing Grindelwald and Kandersteg. On the 5-Seenweg (Five Lakes Walk) near Zermatt, the Matterhorn is reflected in several mountain lakes.

Mountain lakes: Oeschinensee, Caumasee and Lake Lucerne

The Oeschinensee above Kandersteg glows turquoise against steep rock faces and is part of the Jungfrau-Aletsch UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Caumasee near Flims warms up to over 20 degrees in summer. On Lake Lucerne, you can combine a boat trip with views of Rigi and Pilatus.

Waterfalls: Rhine Falls, Staubbach Falls and Trümmelbach Falls

The Rhine Falls near Schaffhausen are 150 metres wide and considered the most powerful waterfall in Europe. In the Lauterbrunnen Valley, the Staubbach Falls plunge almost 300 metres down a rock face. At the Trümmelbach Falls, glacier water from the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau thunders through ten falls inside the mountain.

Panoramic peaks: Matterhorn, Jungfraujoch and Pilatus

At 4,478 metres, the Matterhorn near Zermatt is one of the most famous mountains in the world and looks especially stunning from the Gornergrat. A train takes you up to the Jungfraujoch, Europe's highest railway station at 3,454 metres, and the world's steepest cogwheel railway climbs Pilatus near Lucerne.

Panoramic trains: Glacier Express and Bernina Express

The Glacier Express takes around eight hours to travel from Zermatt to St. Moritz, crossing 291 bridges and passing through 91 tunnels. The Bernina Express links Graubünden with Tirano in Italy and crosses the Bernina Pass at 2,253 metres, on a route that is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

What's actually behind Book a Bubble?

In short: a bubble tent is a transparent tent in the middle of nature. You lie warm and sheltered in bed and fall asleep right under the starry sky.

Hand-picked locations

We don't just pick any old patch of meadow. Every location is hand-picked – for real privacy, a clear view of the sky and a kind of peace that's hard to find.

Individuality

No two bubble tents are alike. Every host adds their own personal touch – from a view of the lake to a bonfire in the middle of the forest.
