Allgäu

First up to the summit, then cheese spätzle at an alpine hut and cowbells in the distance in the evening: the Allgäu between Lake Constance and the Lech looks like a postcard, only more real. Clear mountain lakes, deep gorges and Neuschwanstein Castle are just a few bends apart here. If you want to sleep under the stars after a long hike, your bubble tent in the Allgäu is just the thing: with mountain views, fresh air and a sky you'll never see in the city.

Allgäu

Hiking: Nebelhorn, Nagelfluhkette and Wandertrilogie

The Allgäu is one of Germany's most popular hiking regions. The Wandertrilogie Allgäu links gentle hills, moors and high alpine paths over 876 kilometres. For great views, head to the Nagelfluhkette, the first cross-border nature park between Germany and Austria, or explore the area around Oberstdorf and the Nebelhorn.

Gorges and waterfalls: Breitachklamm, Eistobel and Scheidegg

At around 150 metres deep, the Breitachklamm near Oberstdorf is considered the deepest gorge in Central Europe. In the Western Allgäu, the Obere Argen river rushes through the wild Eistobel gorge, and near Scheidegg the Scheidegg Waterfalls plunge more than 40 metres over two tiers.

Lakes: Forggensee, Großer Alpsee and Hopfensee

The Forggensee near Füssen is Germany's largest reservoir by surface area, with views of the mountains and Neuschwanstein Castle. The Großer Alpsee near Immenstadt is the largest natural lake in the Allgäu, perfect for swimming, sailing and an eleven-kilometre walk around the shore. The Hopfensee is quieter.

Viewpoints: Nebelhorn, Hochgrat and Skywalk

The Nebelhorn cable car takes you up to 2,224 metres, with views over more than 400 peaks. The Hochgrat near Oberstaufen is the highest point of the Nagelfluhkette. For views without a summit hike, try the Skywalk Allgäu in Scheidegg: the treetop walk leads for 540 metres through the treetops.

Tradition: Neuschwanstein, cheese and Viehscheid

Neuschwanstein Castle near Füssen, built from 1869 for King Ludwig II, has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2025. You can experience the authentic Allgäu on the Allgäu Cheese Route with its dairies, and in early autumn at the Viehscheid, when the decorated cattle return from the alpine pastures to the valley.

What's actually behind Book a Bubble?

In short: a bubble tent is a transparent tent in the middle of nature. You lie warm and sheltered in bed and fall asleep right under the starry sky.

Hand-picked locations

We don't just pick any old patch of meadow. Every location is hand-picked – for real privacy, a clear view of the sky and a kind of peace that's hard to find.

Individuality

No two bubble tents are alike. Every host adds their own personal touch – from a view of the lake to a bonfire in the middle of the forest.
