Everyone is welcome at Zum Wilden Michel: nature lovers and hikers, motorcyclists and cyclists, friends of music and culture. There's something going on almost every week. From rock to brass bands, from electro to theatre and cabaret – it's worth checking the events calendar in advance.

If you're in the mood for community, you'll find the best company at Zum Wilden Michel. You arrive and you're part of it – but you'll also find peace and time for two in the bubble tent, with a view of the ice-cold pond and the fir forests. Need wellness rather than wilderness first? Then hop into the hot tub or take a walkie-talkie into the sauna to order drinks straight to the sweat room. You can also enjoy quiet nature on trips together into the densely wooded mountains all around – and even discover the world-famous Triberg Waterfalls.

I'm Michel's sister and part of the “Zum Wilden Michel” farm. In the middle of the Black Forest, you can enjoy peace and time for two with a view of the dense forests.

In the bubble tent, you'll be cosy and snug in any season, with a view of the Black Forest and the starry sky above. The world of Zum Wilden Michel takes care of the rest – bonfire, hot tub, sauna, or would you rather follow the music?

We are Urs, Ute and Oskar – a young family who asked ourselves how we wanted to spend our future. More together, more outdoors, more on our own terms. When we joined the camper community in 2019, it quickly became clear: it had to be a campsite! But a special one, of course. That was more than 6 years ago now. A lot has turned out differently than planned – wilder, more magnificent, but also harder than we thought. Now we're firmly in the saddle, with a wonderful team, great residents and even wilder guests.

The nearest station is well connected. From there it is a short taxi ride or about an hour on foot.
A beautiful cycle path runs right past the site, and there is a safe place to lock up your bike.

The Furtwangen location is very lively – sometimes quiet, sometimes wild. Events and parties take place regularly at the campsite, and depending on the event, it may stay noisy until late. It's best to check the Zum Wilden Michel programme beforehand.
There's no kitchen of your own, but the inn offers breakfast and other meals.
Yes! Barbecuing is possible as long as it's agreed with the hosts. Please observe the regional fire regulations during the summer.
We ask you to treat nature, the facilities and the neighbours with consideration, so that all guests can have a pleasant experience.
For safety reasons, open fire isn't allowed inside the bubble. If you have any questions about permitted fire pits, please contact your host on site directly.
That depends on the location. In the search, you can select the "Dogs welcome" filter. The listing will also give you more information – for example, that dogs are usually only allowed in the airlock chamber and that you'll need to bring a dog basket.
For cancellations up to 21 days before arrival, 85% of the booking amount will be refunded; the remaining 15% is retained as a service & transaction fee. For cancellations up to 7 days before arrival, 50% of the booking amount will be refunded. For cancellations up to 3 days before arrival, 20% of the booking amount will be refunded. Unfortunately, no refund is possible for cancellations after that. You can easily cancel yourself under “My booking”. The refund is made automatically to the original payment method. If you paid with a voucher, that portion will be credited back to your voucher.
Bookings can be rescheduled free of charge for the same location up to 10 days before arrival. Depending on the dates you choose, you may need to pay the difference or receive a refund. You can easily reschedule yourself under “My booking”.
No, unfortunately that isn't technically possible. The refund is made automatically to the original payment method. If you paid for your booking fully or partly with a voucher, that portion will be credited back to your voucher.
Our regular cancellation terms also apply in the event of illness. Unfortunately, this means a short-notice cancellation free of charge isn't possible, even if you can't travel due to illness.
We therefore recommend taking out travel cancellation insurance when you book, which also covers illness. That way, you're financially protected just in case.
The bubbles are built to be weatherproof, so rain won't spoil your nature experience. Thanks to the transparent roof, you can look outside from the comfort of your bed, even when it's raining.
The temperature inside generally follows the temperature outside. Depending on the location, electric blankets or additional heating are available, so you can stay cosy on cooler days. On warmer days, some locations also have a fan.
Please note that even on warm days, it can cool down considerably at night. On hot days, we therefore recommend enjoying the late afternoon and early evening outside first and only heading into the bubble tent in the evening. That way, you'll make your stay especially pleasant.
We recommend dressing for the season and, in cooler temperatures, bringing extra warm clothing and blankets, as this is a nature experience.
