About this spot
Welcome to Bubble Tent Alpaka Al Capone in the Palatinate, in the middle of the vineyards of the Southern Wine Route, just a stone's throw from the French border.
Here at the Deutschhof live 13 alpacas, a winemaker called Martin and, for one night or ideally longer, you too. Under ancient walnut trees stands your fully transparent bubble tent, offering the best view of this wondrous patch of earth. There are no alarm clocks here, just the sun gently kissing you awake in the morning – and ideally your partner too.
Sweet country life is calling!
At Bubble Tent Pfalz you have privacy and time for two, away from curious eyes.
Hay bales and the leaves of the tree give you extra screening. Now and then an alpaca might stand next to your tent and peer in as if it had all the time in the world – but honestly, in that moment, so do you. Take a leaf out of their book and roam as freely as these fluffy fellows, with no fixed plan for the day.
How about a picnic at the farm or a hike through the vineyards with your fluffy colleagues? If you prefer something more relaxed, dive into the hot tub or enjoy the region's finest wines at a wine tasting – or both at once. Want even more wellness? The barrel sauna is waiting to help you sweat out the last bit of everyday stress. Sounds like a plan? It is – but without any rush. And in the best (furry) company.

Es war sehr entspannend. Man konnte super abschalten vom Altag.

Your hosts
We are Ute and Martin Schowalter. Our family has lived on the Deutschhof in the Southern Palatinate since 1794 – today in its ninth generation, with our son Scott as the tenth. Deutschhof 29, 70 souls: our little Gaulish village. This is where our wines grow, where our alpacas live, and where you'll sleep in the bubble tent between vineyard and starry sky. It matters to us that you truly arrive: a glass of wine by the fire, peace among the alpacas, time for yourselves. Most guests' first words are: “Wow, it's beautiful here.” That's exactly why we do this. We look forward to welcoming you.

If you'd like to enjoy an alpaca hike, an alpaca picnic or something similar during your bubble tent stay, simply message host Martin or ask spontaneously on site.
Food isn't included, but you can pre-order a breakfast basket. Or simply bring your own! There's a barbecue, and there's also a snack vending machine on site. You can share a fridge by arrangement with the owner on site.
We ask you to treat nature, the facilities and the neighbours with consideration, so that all guests can have a pleasant experience.
For safety reasons, open fire isn't allowed inside the bubble. If you have any questions about permitted fire pits, please contact your host on site directly.
That depends on the location. In the search, you can select the "Dogs welcome" filter. The listing will also give you more information – for example, that dogs are usually only allowed in the airlock chamber and that you'll need to bring a dog basket.
For cancellations up to 21 days before arrival, 85% of the booking amount will be refunded; the remaining 15% is retained as a service & transaction fee. For cancellations up to 7 days before arrival, 50% of the booking amount will be refunded. For cancellations up to 3 days before arrival, 20% of the booking amount will be refunded. Unfortunately, no refund is possible for cancellations after that. You can easily cancel yourself under “My booking”. The refund is made automatically to the original payment method. If you paid with a voucher, that portion will be credited back to your voucher.
Bookings can be rescheduled free of charge for the same location up to 10 days before arrival. Depending on the dates you choose, you may need to pay the difference or receive a refund. You can easily reschedule yourself under “My booking”.
No, unfortunately that isn't technically possible. The refund is made automatically to the original payment method. If you paid for your booking fully or partly with a voucher, that portion will be credited back to your voucher.
Our regular cancellation terms also apply in the event of illness. Unfortunately, this means a short-notice cancellation free of charge isn't possible, even if you can't travel due to illness.
We therefore recommend taking out travel cancellation insurance when you book, which also covers illness. That way, you're financially protected just in case.
The bubbles are built to be weatherproof, so rain won't spoil your nature experience. Thanks to the transparent roof, you can look outside from the comfort of your bed, even when it's raining.
The temperature inside generally follows the temperature outside. Depending on the location, electric blankets or additional heating are available, so you can stay cosy on cooler days. On warmer days, some locations also have a fan.
Please note that even on warm days, it can cool down considerably at night. On hot days, we therefore recommend enjoying the late afternoon and early evening outside first and only heading into the bubble tent in the evening. That way, you'll make your stay especially pleasant.
We recommend dressing for the season and, in cooler temperatures, bringing extra warm clothing and blankets, as this is a nature experience.
