Take the plunge! Proposing in a bubble tent.

Proposal ideas: the big question under the open sky
You've got the ring. We also know it's hidden behind your spare charging cable in the sock drawer. And we know it's been lying there far too long, and you catch your breath every time you pull out a pair of running socks in the morning.
The love has been there for a long time; it wakes up next to you every morning. The question itself is already settled too. Four words, nothing more ("let's run away together" isn't it, but we'll get to that later).
But the big question – besides the biiig question – is everything around it:
“Planning a proposal: how in heaven's name – and where?”
Welcome to the planning phase. It's nerve-racking, a little chaotic and, let's be honest, one of the best parts of the whole story. Plenty of big questions have already been asked under our domes – and we're happy to help make sure the answer is a yes.
Most proposal ideas revolve around big productions that end up being a sweaty affair. Going down on one knee in front of the Eiffel Tower? A romantic classic, but about as intimate as proposing in a stadium. You can do both, but if the answer is no, it might end up as a viral TikTok video.
“Our proposal: popping the question in a bubble tent.”
Ask the question where only the sky is listening.
So get out of your everyday bubble and into a new one – where you can pledge eternal love to your favourite person with plenty of peace and plenty of wow. No roaring crowd, no giggling table next to you and no beeping washing machine reminding you that you couldn't think of anything more exciting than your own flat.
During your bubble tent stay, the backdrop changes all by itself, from sunset to starry sky to morning mist. Nature is your wedding planner – romance comes from every side.
And the cover story is built in. A romantic weekend in the countryside ("let's run away together") sounds more like an adventure than a proposal at first.
Each of our more than 35 locations has its own character.
We've picked out a few as serving suggestions for your perfect proposal.
Which bubble tent for the engagement?
For animal lovers in love: in the Palatinate you'll find not only bubble tents on a winery, but also emotional support animals in the form of 13 alpacas.
For those sky-high in love: head up high to the Zuckeralp in Switzerland. It doesn't get any sweeter. Panoramic views over mountains and valleys, cowbells in the background and a picture-book sunset.
For the wild at heart: head over heels in love, but left the church long ago? Then perhaps a slightly wilder getaway at Bubble Tent Furtwangen is the right setting to ask your better half if you want to team up for life.
For the passionately in love: on the Kaiserstuhl stands a magnificent winery with views over vineyards and the Rhine plain all the way to the Vosges – golden hour without a filter. A glass of regional wine calms the stage fright, and if that doesn't help, just take a quick dip in the hot tub.
Extra tip: first the question for two, then the surprise: your closest friends are waiting by the campfire – simply book the other bubbles on the grounds too and raise a glass to love together.
For lovebirds by the lake: is water your element? Then head to Weggis with views of Lake Lucerne, to Ellenberg or to the Silbersee in Freiburg. All locations for active couples: after the "yes, I do", you can go straight on to hiking, swimming and paddling – if you want to.
Proposal dos & don'ts
Dos
- Let your host in on it. Sparkling wine, candles or a Romance Package are available at many locations. Just ask right after booking.
- Plan for rain. We won't leave you out in the rain! The bubble tents are wind- and weatherproof, and from your bed, the rain becomes a romantic soundtrack.
- Pack a Polaroid. We're fans of unplugged getaways without phones and selfie sticks – but you shouldn't come away from this moment without any souvenir photos.
Don'ts
- Hide the ring in the food. If you do: there's a first-aid kit at every location.
- Bring out the ring in the hot tub. Instead of going down on one knee, you'll be going for a dive.
- Climb onto the bubble tent. Bubble tents may be eye-catching, but they're not the Eiffel Tower or the Empire State Building. Keep your feet on the ground!
